Valentine depicts Cupid peering through a field of daisies looking towards a young maiden, dressed in a red dress with a white and red apron. She is reading a letter; her hat is on the ground next to her feet. Image is bordered by daisies along the top and bottom of the card, with a quiver of arrows and sealed envelopes along a red ribbon down the right side of the card. Verse inside a brown box in the bottom right corner reads: Quaint little maiden, condescend/To read the message clearly,/That's sent you by a certain friend/Who loves you very dearly. The initials "J.P." are written to the right of the last line of verse. Back of card depicts a field of yellow flowers against a pale blue sky, with the words "St. Valentine's Day" printed on the top left.
