Ruins - Salem Electric Light Company, Power House with American Flag Flying
The Phillips Library collection includes several scrapbooks that recorded the impact of the fire on June 25, 1914. This image came from a newsclipping in one of these scrapbooks; no source or date was included with the clipping. The image depicts the American Flag flying from the Power House of the Salem Electric Company on Ward Street. The newsclipping indicated that the flag was the "only bit of color in the . . . desolation."
