This building, housing the E. S. Woodbury Shoe Factory and the Hodgdon Durand Shoe Company, demonstrates the advantage of a fire wall. The E. S. Woodbury factory survived the fire because of a sixteen-inch brick fire wall separating it from the Hodgdon Durand Shoe Company.
