Published on June 29, 1914, the front page of the Boston Journal included a report about rebuilding efforts in Salem along with a report about the assassination of the Archduke of Austria, Prince Ferdinand, on June 28, 1914. It also included an article discussing the amazing response to the aerial photography published immediately after the fire that depicted the significant destruction caused by the conflagration.
