The Swampscott Fire Department provided assistance to the Salem firemen. This image was taken on the tenth anniversary of the fire; it depicts the American LaFrance Motor Pumping Engine, Combination 'B' and the crew of men who fought the fire in June 1914. The banner alongside the fire engine reads: "This pump and this crew worked 18 hours at the Great Salem Fire, 1914." The company battled the fire at Broad and Winthrop Streets and then assisted on Union and Derby Streets.
