Three relief camps were set up for refugees: Forest River Camp along the Salem Harbor; Betram Field Camp at the Salem High School; and the Salem Willows Camp, near the Tuberculosis Camp. The camps had electricity and flush closets were erected soon after the camps opened. Red Cross personnel served the refugees at the three camp sites with some assistance from hospital workers from Boston. This image depicts nurses serving the refugees at the Salem Willows Camp Infirmary.
