Logbooks are included for the John de Costa, James Montgomery, and the R.D. Shepherd. The John de Costa travelled between San Francisco and Queenstown, Liverpool and Rangoon; the James Montgomery and the R.D. Also included is a letter from Charles Hamilton to his wife, composed over the span of two months, describing the activities on a voyage on the John De Costa. Each series is arranged chronologically.
